AH-64 Apache 🏹
US Army - Attack Helicopter - Aircraft Recognition Playing Cards
Since entering service in 1986, the Boeing AH-64 Apache has earned an unrivaled reputation as the world's most feared and battle-tested attack helicopter. Famous for completely devastating enemy armor formations during the 1991 Gulf War, this heavily armored gunship is built around a terrifying sensor and weapons suite. Its signature weapon is the chin-mounted 30mm M230 chain gun, which is seamlessly connected to the crew's helmet movements, meaning wherever the pilot or gunner looks, the gun instantly points.
Today, the modernized AH-64E Apache remains the lethal backbone of U.S. Army aviation and is constantly evolving to dominate modern battlefields. In a massive leap forward for its air-to-air capabilities, the Army recently tested new XM1225 APEX proximity-fuzed 30mm ammunition in early 2026, officially turning the Apache into a highly effective drone swatter capable of shredding enemy UAVs out of the sky. The airframe is also proving its extreme-weather versatility; in February 2026, AH-64Es from the 11th Airborne Division have been actively conducting high-intensity Arctic warfare drills in the sub-zero temperatures of Alaska. Whether hunting tanks in the desert or swatting drones out of the freezing northern skies, the Apache remains the absolute master of the low-altitude battlespace.
