The Original
Born From a WWII Necessity
Spotter cards were issued to Allied forces during World War II so a soldier glancing skyward could tell friend from foe in seconds, a skill that meant the difference between calling in support and continuing the mission as planned. Standard playing cards were the perfect way to teach it: most troops already carried a deck and could drill recognition in spare moments without a separate training aid. We took that same job, fast, reliable recognition, and gave it to a new generation of platforms for a modern interpretation of a historical classic.
The Mission Today
The Definitive Spotters Deck
Our modern spotters cards depict aircraft operated by the Chinese armed forces, including the Air Force, Navy, and Ground Force. We spend months researching and illustrating each platform, based on official specs and current photography, and release new editions yearly, retiring anything no longer in service so the recognition skills you build here hold up in the real world. The result is a deck of playing cards that cover 52 different in-service aircraft and 3 jokers; everything you need for your favorite card game or a round of visual recognition training.
How the deck breaks down
Our decks use suits to group and rank platforms by role so recognition patterns emerge as you play, helping you quickly understand how a platform relates to a larger group, instead of memorizing card-by-card.
